What Are Class Dues?

Class dues directly support our students' grade-level activities throughout the school year. These funds cover essential grade-specific expenses, including (but not limited to!):

  • Official grade-level t-shirts

  • Winter and End-of-Year class celebrations

  • Special Grade-Specific events (VA History Day, Renaissance Day, etc)

How Are Class Dues Managed?

For your convenience, the PTA collects class dues on behalf of each grade level. However, the PTA serves strictly as a financial pass-through.

 

100% of the funds collected are distributed directly to your grade’s appointed Grade Level Treasurer. Grade treasurers are appointed yearly by grade parents, and they work together to set dues amounts and manage student activities and do not need to be PTA members. Not sure who your grade lead is? Reach out to your child's homeroom teacher! 

 

How Are Class Dues Different From PTA Membership Dues?

We know it is tricky, especially when amounts are so similar! While both contributions enrich our school community, they serve two distinct purposes.

PTA Membership Dues are set at $30 per family annually and grant official membership in the Wolftrap Elementary School PTA. Managed directly by the Wolftrap Executive PTA Board, these funds support school-wide family events, teacher grants, classroom supplies, staff appreciation, and school facility improvements. Membership includes voting rights at monthly general PTA meetings as well as full access to the general PTA Student Directory.

Grade-Level Class Dues, on the other hand, provide direct financial support for your student’s specific grade-level activities. The PTA collects these dues solely for your convenience and acts strictly as a financial pass-through. One hundred percent of these funds are distributed directly to your student's Grade Level Treasurer—who is appointed annually by grade parents and does not need to be a PTA member. PTA membership is not required to pay class dues or participate in grade activities.

 

 

Class Dues Breakdown FOR 2026-2027

  • Kindergarten: $25

  • 1st Grade: $25

  • 2nd Grade: $30

  • 3rd Grade: $30

  • 4th Grade: $35

  • 5th Grade: $25 

  • 6th Grade: $75 (includes Promotion & Graduation events)
